CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: I am now open to new referrals for face-to-face and online therapy.
I offer a warm and professional therapy service to adults suffering with anxiety or mood difficulties. My area of speciality is working with people who have experienced trauma, either a single event or multiple traumas such as childhood neglect or abuse, sexual assault and traumatic loss. You do not have to have a diagnosis to work with me. I also work with people with other mental health issues such as OCD, anxiety, phobias, panic, perfectionism and low self-esteem.
I have training in a number of therapies and draw on these depending on the needs of each individual I am working with. These include:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I have over 12 years experience in the NHS, including a sexual assault service at Kings College Hospital London and an IAPT service in Islington. I have been in independent practice since 2016.
My therapy room is in central Taunton, Somerset. I am available for sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am until 2pm. I can also provide therapy online using Zoom. I see self-funding clients and am registered with: Aviva; BUPA; Cigna; AXA-PPP; WPA and Geo-Blue.
Professional Accreditation and Regulatory Bodies
I am regulated by the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I am an accredited CBT practitioner with the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and an EMDR-Europe Accredited Practitioner. I am also Chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
"I have found the EMDR sessions life changing. I was really stuck on a traumatic event from my past but with Claire’s support and guidance we have worked through this. I am far more resilient, I am managing my own anxieties and no longer fear my past experiences."
